Thanks for visiting. We’re thrilled to be able to tell you about some exciting changes at Wings.
Our new ownership
First, as many know, we’re under new ownership as of 2016. La Clinica, a Medford-based group of nonprofit community health centers with a history of support for Wings, has purchased the program. La Clinica provides comprehensive health services to 27,000 patients annually in Southern Oregon and has a history of providing quality, accessible care with high patient and staff loyalty and a lot of community support. Longtime Wings Vice President and Facilitator Sherrie Frank and Operations Manager Dawn Contreras both have joined La Clinica’s staff and will run our program. Wings founder Kris King is staying with the organization as a seminar facilitator. You can learn more about La Clinica here.
Our expansion to a new population and area
La Clinica provides health care to a primarily low-income and sometimes uninsured population, and part of the organization’s goal is to spread Wings work to its patients as part of the La Clinica wellness program. This is an exciting addition. We believe that by incorporating Wings seminars with traditional health care, we will be able to help people make truly profound shifts that will improve their health and well being. La Clinica’s involvement will also help us bring our education to people with financial barriers.
How you can be involved
You are so important to us, and we’ve come up with some specific ways for you to be involved as we grow and change.
Attend our seminars—This is an obvious one. If attending Wings seminars remains on your “YES! I’m so ready to create a life I love and here’s how I’m going to do it!” list, by all means sign up and congratulate yourself as you check off this piece. Under our new ownership you’ll experience the same level of facilitation and learning you’ve come to expect from us.
Serve on an assist team—Our volunteers are necessary to help organize and run our seminars, and most importantly to assist us in creating an extraordinary learning environment. To serve, we ask that you have completed at least PES and CrossOver, and also attended our Assist Team Training. Call Program Coordinator Dawn Contreras at 541-683-8540 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up for a specific assist team.
Serve on our Wings Advisory Council— This group helps us shape Wings’ future. More information is available here.
Make a financial contribution—We’re so excited about the future of Wings and about the potential to expand to new populations, new organizations, and new areas. La Clinica is a 501c3 agency with a strong charitable mission and legacy. It approaches community support in a thoughtful and respectful manner, soliciting contributions only for new initiatives and to expand services, and it will do the same with Wings. Our goal for the 2016-17 fiscal year will be to raise $250,000 to support a sustainable base for Wings’ future. If you are in a position to help us move in this direction through a financial contribution, please visit us at www.laclinicahealth.org/donate or contact La Clinica Development Officer Maria Ramos Underwood at email@example.com or 541-512-3152. We are grateful for your consideration.
