Namasté: FAQ
Q: Your literature says the Namasté seminar is based on spirituality not religion, what is the difference?
A: In Namasté we discover, explore and deepen our relationship to our spirit or soul, this is what we define as spirituality. It is the connection with what fills us and what we as a unique being connect to. Religion, by definition is a particular system of faith and worship. It is what connects us to other like-minded people in a spiritual practice.
Q: Will my religious beliefs be honored in Namasté?
A: Our intention is for Namasté to assist you to expand and strengthen your spiritual awareness. This spiritual awareness may help deepen your religious experience and give you tools you can use to practice your faith.
Q: Will religion be discussed?
A: Yes, each year we invite two local spiritual leaders from different faiths to come and share with us aspects of their religious practice and their own spiritual experience.
Q: What if I have no spiritual context coming into Namasté? Will I be able to participate fully?
A: Yes, many people who come to Namasté do so as an exploration of unknown territory. In their lives they have had no exposure to spirituality or were raised as atheist. Diane Bonne, a Namasté grad, shared her story of being raised an atheist and finding her spiritual connection in Namasté in a Winging It! article. You can read it now…
