FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PERSONAL EFFECTIVENESS SEMINAR (P.E.S.)
Q: I’ve read tons of self-help books. Why should I spend all the time and money on a seminar?
A: It’s about those crucial 18 inches the distance from your head to your heart. What we read stays pretty much in our heads. We understand it all, but living it is, well, another matter. In the PES seminar you travel the “final 18 inches” and connect your head’s knowing with your heart. It’s when that understanding makes its way into the heart that we can live what we know.
Q: I’ve actually done a seminar. Been there, done that. Why should I do this one?
A: How’s it working? Staying in the saddle is important. It’s not a matter of being done “once and for all.” The PES is a great refresher and tune-up for people who have already done some personal growth work and most report being quite surprised by how much more they benefited from the experience than they had expected. People find WINGS’ seminars to be qualitatively different from most others deeper, more insightful, and with lasting impact.
Q: This seems like a big commitment in terms of time, money, travel, etc.
A: It is. And your life is worth it. Anything that can be expected to provide huge rewards is going to cost something, right? What does it cost (time, money, travel, etc.) to take a course in college, for example? An investment in the PES seminar lasts a lifetime.
Q: I’m being pressured to do this. My life’s not all that bad. I don’t think I need to get fixed.
A: Neither do we! We think you’re perfectly fine the way you are. We also think that you don’t have to be sick in order to get better. We’re still waiting to meet the person whose life is so complete, fulfilling, and meaningful that they can’t think of one single way it could be better. Most of us have a good sized list of things we could improve. The PES is all about having even more of what you want in your life, and less of what you don’t.
Q: Speaking of pressure, my friend just won’t quit talking about WINGS and telling me I should do the PES! Do the PES! What gives?
A: First, it’s important to know that your friend cares sincerely about you and simply wants the best for you. It is a measure of the results they got that keeps them encouraging you to enroll. WINGS in no way puts pressure on its grads to recruit people into the seminars. In fact, we encourage them to go easy on their families and friends because we realize it can feel overwhelming to others. We suggest you step back and observe your friend and the results you see in them as you consider taking their advice.
Q: If I do the PES, how long will the results last?
A: Your results last and grow for as long as you do the work of applying what you learned in the seminar to your everyday life. As with any other skills, you use ‘em or lose ‘em. It’s entirely up to you the extent to which you incorporate what you’ve learned. A supportive community of friends and family is certainly helpful. The key is to keep on doing your work, however it is you do it. Maintaining the friendships and connections you made in the PES, inspiring your friends and family to enroll in PES, enrolling yourself in CROSSOVER are all effective ways to ‘stay in the saddle.’
Q: Will my company pay for this?
A: It's quite likely. Many companies do. Employers consistently say Wings trainings make a big difference in the work place. Call one of our Enrollment Coordinators for more information at 800.697.0040.
