"I now smile. I’m still not perfect... and I dance... even when people are watching."
Trish Kelley - March 2003 Grad

I attended PES at the suggestion of my husband who is a PES grad. I was touched and inspired by my experience and was excited to go to CrossOver.
The lessons of my life prior to Wings had been that only perfection was acceptable and that was unattainable so I was, by definition, unworthy. I did not smile often, joked seldom and did not dance, especially when someone might see me.
I attended PES, CrossOver and LifeWorks in short order. I made phenomenal strides in letting go of my old baggage, learning to love myself and accepting my imperfections. I discovered a new way to be in service to the world through Wings Assist Teams. I discovered that I wanted to take the work deeper and decided to “someday” apply to be in the Wings internship.
In Dec 2004 I watched the place I had planned to spend my Christmas and New Years holiday be washed away in the tsunami. This was my wakeup call.... If I kept waiting until “someday” came, I would never accomplish this or many other desires of mine. I decided that NOW is as good as any other someday and submitted my application for the internship.
I had the blessing of being one of the interns in 2005/2006. I’m not sure I can adequately describe my experience in the internship. I can say that it is where I really got to practice and internalize the teachings of Wings. The things the participants in the LifeWorks sessions taught me as well as the lessons from my fellow interns and facilitators will be with me forever. One thing that this experience absolutely clarified for me is how important being in service is for me.
In the years since my internship I am still closely affiliated with Wings, I participate in as many assist teams as I can, I advocate for the seminars. I’ve taken a number of my “someday” items and made them happen such as going to Bhutan, losing 120 pounds and getting over being terrified of heights.
I am now working on making my vision, “to live an inspired, adventurous and spiritual life, dreaming big and supporting others in living their dreams,” a reality. I’m working with Source Foundation, www.source-foundation.org, to create a web presence and become a funding source for people that want to attend Wings seminars, especially teens. If this touches your heart and you wish to help teens attend Wings seminars please contact us through our website. We would love to hear from you. Right now we are looking for volunteers to assist with fund raising. We have a way you can donate to Source Foundation that costs nothing (on the Get Involved page) but a few minutes of your time and of course we are always happy to take donations.
I now smile. I’m still not perfect... and I dance... even when people are watching.
